Branch Administrator/Organiser required for the Manchester Metropolitan University (part time, 0.5)

Salary: £16,075 p.a. (£32,151 p.a. pro rata, pay award pending)

The University of Manchester Metropolitan University UCU Branch is seeking to appoint someone to assist with managing its office, with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will work 17.5 hours per week.

You will develop and implement a recruitment strategy, undertake organising activities, keep the Branch website up to date, and take minutes. With sound organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, you will have knowledge of the implications of working for a trade union or other not-for-profit organisation, be the first point of contact for members and be expected to support the branch officers in all aspects of your work for UCU.

Regional Support Official - Northern Ireland

Salary: £48,201 p.a.

We are looking for a Regional Support Official for Northern Ireland, based in our Belfast office.

The main purpose of the Regional Support Official is to provide advice and support to local branches with individual representation and collective bargaining. Duties also include providing training, assisting with recruitment and organisation and representing the union to employer, funding and government bodies. The post holder will also assist in ensuring the consistent implementation of UCU's bargaining, campaigning and organising objectives and contribute to the Union's responses to employer and Government consultations.
